Dr. Ioan Botiz received in 2007 his PhD in Polymer Physics from the University of Haute Alsace (France). He was working, as a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher at the Chemical Institute for Surfaces and Interfaces, on the self-assembly of amphiphilic block-copolymers into various ordered nanostructures. In 2008, Dr. Botiz moved to work at the Center for Nanoscale Materials in Argonne National Laboratory (USA) on structuring of photovoltaic active layers, design and fabrication of organic energy devices. Later on, as a FRIAS excellence postdoctoral fellow at the University of Freiburg (Germany), he focused his work on understanding how order in thin films of conjugated polymers affects/alters their final optoelectronic properties. Dr. Botiz was working on the EPSRC Centre’s PASMOMA project at Imperial College London. Currently he is a Scientific Researcher II at Babes-Bolyai University (Cluj-Napoca, Romania).
