On April 1 2016, Dr Paul Stavrinou took up a new position as Associate Professorship of Engineering Science (Photonics) at the University of Oxford in association with a Tutorial Fellowship at Lincoln College. Prior to that, Dr. Paul N. Stavrinou was Reader in Physics and Director of Imperial’s Plastic Electronics Centre for Doctoral Training (PE-CDT). He previously held positions at University College London and the University of Oxford. From 2005-2010, he held an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship and was part of the team awarded an Imperial College Research Excellence Award in 2006. In 2011, the PE-CDT was awarded the FlexTech Leadership in Education award from the US-based FlexTech Alliance Organisation. His research interests span the development of materials (organic and inorganic) for photonic applications and optoelectronic device components, i.e. modulators, lasers and amplifiers, particularly those involving strong localization, propagation and radiation of light. He has over 90 publications and 3 patent filings.
