Innovate UK has announced a new £3 million “technology inspired” competition under the theme of Electronics, Sensors and Photonics and Large-Area Electronics is within the scope. Projects must be led by a small or micro business working in collaboration with one or more businesses or research partners (e.g. an academic researcher). Project size is between £50k and £150k and projects should last between 6 and 15 months. Academic participation is limited to a maximum of 30% of the overall project cost.
Key dates: registration by 2nd September and submission by 9th September
Projects should concentrate on early-stage technical opportunities, where there is significant technical risk and some level of uncertainty about how the proposed approach will work in practice. The aim of these feasibility studies is to build an evidence base, identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, as well as the resources required to develop an idea further. The outcome is expected to be a proof of principle that can enable the organisations to participate in further collaborative development on the journey to eventual commercialisation.
The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Large-Area Electronics would be pleased to help organisations to find suitable partners, both from academia and industry, for project proposals in this call. Please contact us at email@example.com.
